Clients' Transformation Stories
“ I am thrilled to share my exceptional experience working with Ivy as my personal trainer. When I first approached her, I was grappling with chronic pain in my back and hip, compounded by the challenges of mild Osteoporosis. Ivy's expertise and tailored approach have truly been transformative in my fitness journey.
Ivy's keen understanding of my specific conditions allowed her to design a personalized exercise regimen that not only addressed my pain management needs but also focused on building strength in targeted areas to alleviate discomfort. Her attention to detail and commitment to my well-being were evident from the outset.
What sets Ivy apart is her ability to craft workouts that cater to my unique challenges. Through a combination of targeted exercises and strategic weight training, she not only helped manage my pain but also played a pivotal role in building muscle in key areas. This dual focus on pain relief and muscle development has made a world of difference in my overall fitness and quality of life.
In summary, Ivy's personalized approach, expertise in pain management, and emphasis on building strength have made her an outstanding personal trainer. I wholeheartedly recommend Ivy to anyone seeking not just a trainer, but a partner in their journey toward a healthier, more vibrant life. Thank you, Ivy, for your exceptional guidance and support! “

" When I first started off, I recall being unable to sustain a 2-minute on the treadmill but after training with Ivy all this while, I think it’s pretty safe to say that the improvement is vast as I can now cover a distance of a 4km without pausing. Other improvements also include being able to run for my workplace’s cross country event, something I had been unable to do for the past 6 years and me joining my first 10km run in September.
Her professionalism is something I have often admired and is something that does not go unnoticed by her other clients too I am sure. She is very aware of what each one is capable of delivering but also does not settle for something that is at someone’s comfort level. She knows how and when to push and when to step back, gauging my ability to continue with quite commendable accuracy. I think that this can be attributed to the fact that she makes an effort to get to know her clients well and monitors them closely during the sessions. She is well-prepared for the sessions and what I respect the most is that she often has back-up plans to cater to unforeseen circumstances. I also recall an incident when I lost my temper with her in the initial stages simply because I was overwhelmed by my own weakened state and she managed to maintain her cool really well and knew what to do. I believe that this is a rare trait and is one that is truly valuable. "

" In the past 1 year 3 months, which I have been training under her, I definitely noticed huge improvements made in my posture, strength and endurance. What motivated me to take up personal training in the beginning was the need for me to work on my core muscles to alleviate my backaches and to fix my posture. Also I wanted to take running on a more serious note and needed help to train for my half-marathon. Through our training sessions, Ivy worked patiently with me explaining the use of various muscle groups involved in the different exercises and the importance of keeping a good form to avoid injuries. She was always there to provide the reassurance and the physical support to ensure that my safety is well taken care of. It really helped to boost my confidence and she was able to help me push my personal limit bit by bit. And indeed it has proven to work! I completed my first half-marathon with a timing of 3 hr 14 mins but my second one was completed in 2 hr 40 mins, which by then I had been training with Ivy for about a year. Through training with Ivy, not only have I built up my strength and endurance, most importantly I no longer suffer from backaches. Though my posture still needs some working on, but I could already feel the improvement in the mobility of my back. I have a wider range of motion now and I am glad I can better manage exercises which were difficult for me in the beginning. Before implementing any fitness plan for her client, Ivy would take into consideration his/her current fitness level and health issues (if any). Thus, I would recommend Ivy to any individual who is looking at building his/her fitness level in a safe and progressive manner. "

" This amazing year I met Ivy who is a personal trainer. She is enthusiastic, motivating, and knowledgeable about all things fitness. I never liked working out. I was always too tired by the end of the day to go gym alone but Ivy helped me ease my way into working out. She pushed me slowly to do more and more, to push myself to new limits. She taught me how to strengthen the areas around my injuries and how to work around the problem areas in my body. Now, I can lift weights and run up and down the stairs without pain in my shoulder and knees. Ivy always delivers a challenging workout that will renew confidence in my body and lift my spirits. I have been training under Ivy for 16 months, she is constantly surprising and challenging me. I am one middle age, out of shape woman but today my age hasn't changed, my whole perspective and confidence has come full circle. Ivy is completely in tune with my goal, and pushed me to meet them. If there was ever a trainer who makes sure her clients perform each exercise and manoeuvre correctly so as not to sustain injuries, it is Ivy. "

" I was initially skeptical about exercise alone being able to resolve my constant lower back pain which has been bothering me for almost 3 years. I have always thought that seeking medical treatment was the best possible option. However, after going through training with Ivy over the past 5 months, I have seen great improvements, as the lower back pain discomfort level has reduced significantly with the pain being almost completely gone! I am now able to hold a plank for 1.5 mins with good form and do side planks with much greater stability. Even more miraculously, I wasn't able to do sit-ups for almost 30 years but I can now perform unassisted sit-ups (with no need to support ankle) and I now love doing sit-ups! My mental resilience has also improved over time. I used to give up on training easily and did not believe that I can actually do it. However, with Ivy's constant encouragement and patience in going through this customized training programme with me, I am now more confident and love to come to this friendly gym. Thank you so much lvy! "

" Under Ivy's tutelage, I now know my way around the gym, and have seen dramatic improvements in my strength and stamina. I used to only be able to sustain a jog for 10 minutes before giving up, but through this training I can now easily run for more than 30 minutes. My 2.4km timing improved from 23:30 minutes to 14:52 minutes. I also broke my standing broad jump record from 120cm to 170cm. At the end of this program, I lost 5kg of body weight and 6% of body fat, bringing it down to a good, healthy level. Though sessions may be tiring, they always end up to be extremely fulfilling and I definitely do not regret taking this huge step towards a healthier body! "

" Having Ivy as my trainer to help me kick start my fitness journey was the best decision I made. During our 11 months of training, her knowledge and attentiveness have helped me to grow in my understanding and awareness of my capabilities, diet and workouts. Through the sessions, Ivy has been scaffolding and tailoring the workouts to help me develop on my physical strength while at the same time guiding me in executing the correct posture to engage the correct muscle group. With my scoliosis situation, this has made me aware of my posture and muscle activation for effective workouts. This has led to an increase in my endurance as we progressively move on to more intense workouts. Her knowledge in the trigger point massage has helped to relieve the pain and muscle knot in my shoulders for better mobility to carry out my exercises. Ivy has been very patient in teaching me the workouts and spends the time to help me build on my confidence in doing them within my capabilities. She pushes and encourages me to the best of my abilities and sometimes out of my mental barriers. Her affable personality allows me to feel comfortable when training with her and I always have a fun time during our training. In summary, Ivy is a passionate and dependable trainer who is willing to broaden her knowledge to better support her clients and journey together with them. I highly recommend Ivy for anyone who is starting or getting back into their fitness journey. "

" Being my first personal trainer, I didn't really know what to expect from PT sessions. All I knew was that I wanted to lose weight to reach an ideal of 55kg despite being 176cm. I was very into running and I would run 10km on the treadmill on alternate days. I also had a very unhealthy relationship with food, wanting to burn off every calorie I ate. Hence, I was initially very unconvinced and skeptical when Ivy told me to stop doing so much cardio and do resistance training instead. I thought that didn't help my weight loss goal at all. Nevertheless, I placed my faith in Ivy and decided to give PT a chance and see where it would take me. Ivy started out giving me really simple (in retrospect) exercises like a bodyweight squat and walking lunges. Looking at the other incredible grunting hulks around the gym lifting heavy weights, I felt so puny and weak. However, Ivy was extremely encouraging and told me that we all needed to start somewhere. Instead of comparing how heavy I was lifting or how many reps I was doing, Ivy told me to focus on learning good form. Ivy's approach was slow and steady, to progressively always challenge me while ensuring that I stayed injury free. Slowly I felt myself growing stronger. Not only was I lifting heavier weights in the gym, Ivy is always taking care to ensure that I did them in good form. Even in daily life I felt I could climb numerous flights of stairs so much more easily, or help my parents lift heavier things around the house. Yet, training sessions with Ivy never became easier. Each time I celebrated being able to do a higher intensity exercise, Ivy immediately made it more difficult. Looking back I am grateful to her for always pushing the within safe limits, and challenging me beyond what I imagined I could do. I now am so much stronger, more resilient and in love with resistance training. I also have a healthier attitude towards exercise, and with the basics Ivy taught me, she has helped me gain the confidence to continue training (safely) on my own. Thank you Ivy! "

" I have been fortunate enough to work with two different trainers, and each has been amazing in their own ways. My current trainer is Ivy. She has put in time and energy to get me in shape. She listen to me and encourages and challenges me to give it my all. She helped me develop my mindset in a positive way and changed me to a person who thinks “I know I can”. I am impressed by her passion to help her clients, her knowledge and her ability to connect with her clients. She is caring and attentive to what each client needs, what their limits and how far she can push them. She encourages and motivates me to do better and yet knows how much I am capable of. During the last three months, I have been challenged and pushed and she has taught me a great deal. She makes working out fun and inspires me to reach new goals. "

" After months of training with Ivy, I feel stronger both physically and mentally. The biggest change ever since I started my training is becoming more active especially ever since my knee injury. During my sessions with Ivy, I have full confidence in her and her training methods. She demonstrates proper usage and setting up of machines and equipment. She also emphasises a lot on safety and how to maximise performance.Throughout the months, Ivy has always been checking on my progress despite being away from work for a month. Under Ivy's guidance, it will be a great way to kickstart your fitness journey. "
